Argentina Begins Training for Mauritania Friendly

The Argentine national team will begin training this Tuesday in preparation for the friendly match against Mauritania, scheduled for next Friday at 20:15 at La Bombonera. According to information gathered by the Argentine News Agency, the national squad, led by Lionel Scaloni, will start preparing for the next match, which will serve as preparation for the 2026 World Cup and will be the last appearance for the country's squad. After 17:00, several Argentine players such as Julián Álvarez, Nahuel Molina, Nicolás González, and Giuliano Simeone arrived at Ezeiza Airport. Later, Nicolás Tagliafico joined them, coming from France. Meanwhile, it is expected that the Argentine star will arrive in Argentina on Monday night and may be present for the national team's evening training, the time of which is yet to be confirmed. Likewise, some members of the called-up squad, such as Exequiel Palacios, Nicolás Otamendi, Enzo Fernández, and Alexis Mac Allister, arrived on Argentine soil in the preceding hours. Following the injuries to Gonzalo Montiel and Leonardo Balerdi, Scaloni decided to include Lucas Martínez Quarta in the squad, who recently won a 2-0 victory with River Plate against Estudiantes de Río Cuarto, playing as a starter and captain. Lastly, the cancellation of the Finalissima against Spain, planned for the end of this month, led to the Argentine national team scheduling a series of friendlies against Mauritania and Zambia on March 27th and 31st, respectively.
